DETAILS:  Thursday, October 31 from 11:00am - 12:00pm in the Helen Gale Story Room, join the SCPL for an extra wiggly story time followed by a time to play with other children and meet other caregivers. Designed with sensory differences in mind, and open to all.

DETAILS:  Our Sensory Sensory events include a trained and caring staff that work to ensure each guest has a fun-filled visit. We realize that the Chuck E. experience can be very stimulating for any child, so our mission is to create an event that allows ALL kids to be a kid.

DETAILS:  Preparations are under way at the Naperville Park District to welcome Santa once again to his home on the Riverwalk this holiday season.  Santa House will open its doors on Saturday, November 30. In addition to the public hours, Santa House will open for a series of special nights that require a reservation.

low-sensory early exploration

DETAILS:  Low-Sensory Early Exploration are free events where guests can explore featured exhibits in a less crowded and more sensory-friendly environment from 8:30a - 9:30a.  Exhibits offered during the morning event will be altered to be more sensory-friendly. Some exhibits within the Museum will be altered until noon on these dates.   You can check out noise-reducing headphones and weighted vests for free from Guests Services in the Entry Hall. A quiet room offering sensory toys, water and a space to relax is also available until noon on these dates.

DETAILS:  Bring the family for a magical and memorable experience – just like visiting the North Pole! Blackberry Farm is a winter wonderland amid thousands of twinkling lights, festive holiday decorations and happy holiday music. Take a ride on the Holiday Express train – a charming tour around scenic Lake Gregory – and enjoy a hay wagon ride, too. Back in the historic pioneer village, you’ll enjoy crafts, a reindeer food bar, story readings of holiday classics at the one-room schoolhouse and…a special visit with Santa.

DETAILS:  Children within every spectrum of special needs and their families are invited to a private photo session, to experience the time-honored tradition of a visit with Santa Claus before mall hours in a quiet, sensory-friendly environment. Please reserve your time slot for your family's photo session - ONE TICKET per group/family.


sensory-friendly enchanted railroad at morton arboretum

4100 IL Rt. 53, Lisle

DETAILS:  Since some children may be overstimulated by the sights and sounds of the Enchanted Railroad, special times have been created to accommodate these families.  Registration will be capped at 40 guests at each time slot so that families can enjoy a crowd-free space
